1 out of 10

i have noticed in my young life that only about 1 out of 10 of the things i do actually works out how i thought it would. That just means i have got to do more stuff and do it better. Hopefully this blog will be the 1 out of 10. If it is not then that means something else will so this is a win-win situation. Just to go ahead and say it, i am not a writer. One day i may have to write a book on my own so this will be good practice.

i am constantly asked about my life:
-What is like being a teenager and everyone knowing who you are?
-Is it hard to go to school?
-What is it like having cameras documenting your life?
-Do you love it?
-Do you hate it?
-Do these questions get on your nerves?
-Is Si really that crazy?
-Do you like Bumbleetuna?
-How does it all affect your Christian life?
-How do you stay focused with all the distractions?
-Do you really act like you do on tv?

To answer a few of these right now. The DD(Duck Dynasty) is not a documentary. It is a very small window into the crazy, ever-changing, but consistently exciting life that my family lives that is not unlike a lot of families. Hopefully this blog will allow you to look into that window. It will be funny, sad, adventurous, shallow, deep, spiritual, exciting, out-of-the-ordinary, yet very ordinary because life is all of those things. Some of you reading this are going be relieved at what you see, some will be inspired, some will be challenged, and some will just be mad. i would say sorry, but i am not sorry enough to change so it probably wouldn't do any good. Sorry about that.
i am young and beardless in a large family of men with beards. There are some high standards (though not what you would think) but we will get to that later. The Robertson's grew up hunting, fishing, and working to live. My grandparents, parents, aunt, and uncles put a lot of time and work into building what you see. i didn't do anything. i just was born into what is now the Dynasty over Ducks that we have now. So the question that i ask myself very often is
WHAT IN THE WORLD DO i DO WITH IT?
i am growing up so differently then the Bearded Robertson's did! i am Young and Beardless so how do i live like a Robertson? That is what i am going to write about. A lot of people also say they want to be in my family so i will do the best i can to tell my journey to being a Robertson and what i am learning along the way. You can decide for yourselves if you want to learn too.

Because i have to start the story somewhere to get you caught up, i will start at the beginning of this summer at our family beach trip so be ready that!

  8. John Luke, I'm proud of you taking this step. "To whom much is given, much is expected" - Jesus in Luke 12:48 --- That said, be faithful with the small things my friend. I enjoy the show and your family. I also come from a crazy family in Shreveport, so I really relate. I even have a crazy uncle that's hilarious!! Although, he lives in Georgia.

Keep your knees on the ground, and your nose in THE Book!

    Grace and Peace,
    Chris Landry

  11. I think that this is a great idea. In life you take the wrong turn and make bad decisions but what matters is what you learn from it. I think this is a great way for you to show your perspective towards your life right now, including the show, and family.

  17. I think its a great idea for young people to blog..I don't blog much anymore, but it has been a blessing to read back through my struggles and victories..and to see that even when things were the worst for me that there was a plan in store, I just needed to keep the faith..
Anyhow, Happy Blogging! I hope you keep it up. :)

  20. This is truly amazing, John Luke! I love how real you are about this! You are showing people that just because you are on a hit TV series, you are an individual who is kind enough to share his journey as a Robertson with us, your writing isn't perfect (don't worry, mine isn't perfect either), which in my opinion makes everything you say more real! Thank you, I look forward to reading!

  26. I was always curious as to how being a "reality TV star" if you will has changed your life and your relationship with God. I'm currently the same age as you and I know that if it was me I wouldn't be a Christian. I look forward to reading the things your write. I'd also like if you could privately contact me somehow I'd like to talk to you about some things.

  28. Very excited to read this! My family is not an entirely religious one but we enjoy watching yours who is. It will be good for someone in the spotlight to be able to say and reflect as he pleases w/o someone telling you no. No matter the comments u get here (which you will receive a ridiculous amount) no matter what they say, who cares, keep writing, keep answering as much as u can, no one will ever effect your life unless you allow them to. Only GOD and you lay out your life plan and me and my family are excited to see what u have to say about ur life so far. Good luck John Luke ☺ and tons of love from my family to your! ❤

  29. I think a blog is a good way to be real. It's not like other social media sites where you'll get a lot of hate & negitive comments (at least I hope not!) From my blogging experience, the majority of followers are friendly, helpful and uplifting. Don't put too much pressure on yourself to write. When you make it a chore, it becomes unenjoyable. Write when you have something to say. I'm sure we can all learn from each other through this. Looking forward to hearing more of your story.

  39. Hey John Luke this is Tyler Jones, I am inspired by your story and I have to say DD has inspired me to start my own Buisness WickedStick Roping Dummies, something I started with my best friend john Ryon and in our first year had taken off under our feet and had grown so big. I can relate to your story because I wanted to start something new and I did and through god and my faith in what I was doing it became a great success!
If you would ever see this I invite you to check out my Facebook for my WickedStick roping dummies company! I get a lot of people telling me they look wicked awesome! Maybe show your dad! I bet he would like the way they look ! Thanks buddy and god bless and good luck!
